How to Enroll

Any student in the State of California is eligible to attend Ararat Charter School. However, all admissions for incoming students are conducted via a random, public lottery. California charter school law requires a lottery whenever requests by students to enroll in a charter school exceed the number of available seats.

Ararat Charter School’s rigorous standards-based approach is in high demand by parents looking for a public school where their children have the opportunity to learn Armenian and Spanish.

In recent years, we have received approximately 600 applicants for the 56 places typically available each year.

To Apply to Ararat Charter School

  1. Read our age requirements to confirm whether or not your child is eligible for enrollment
  2. Complete an enrollment application
  3. Return completed enrollment application by the deadline for the upcoming school year
  4. Receive a wait list number on the date of the lottery
  5. Respond immediately if contacted by the administrative office that your child has been accepted for enrollment
  6. Submit required enrollment paperwork by the requested deadline
