Since 2013, Karim Merzian has served as Chief Financial Officer of Wilshire Boulevard Temple, where he oversees Finance and Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Investments, and Information Technology for the Temple’s wide range of programs—including two elementary schools, three nursery schools, three religious schools, and a summer camp.

Karim brings more than 35 years of financial leadership experience to the Temple. He began his career at Deloitte in public accounting before holding key roles at Avery Dennison, Health Net, Disney Regional Entertainment, and Medtronic, Inc. He also guided two start-up companies, one of which successfully went public in 2012.

A graduate of California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Accounting, Karim is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in the state of California. He has deep expertise in finance and accounting, as well as in leading and implementing financial systems.

A lifelong Angeleno, Karim grew up in Los Angeles, where he attended local schools before earning his degree at CSUN. He now lives in North Hollywood with his family.
